The Hunger Games Series

Although The Hunger Games is known for being a very popular movie series, it is a very interesting and amazing book series as well. The books tell the story of a girl named Katniss living in a dystopian world, in district 12. She lives in a time where there is a place with total control called the Capitol that controls their every move with 'peacekeepers' monitoring them with guns to keep them obedient. They control when they eat, what they eat, and where they get to go. Every year, there is an event that is called The Hunger Games that is televised throughout all 12 of the districts. In each district, 2 children are chosen at random to fight to the death. The capitol, however, do not force their children to participate, as they are the ultimate ruler. The rest of the series centers around Katniss and her journey to win the games, escape the capitol, and bring justice to all the districts that were harmed. I highly recommend this book even for people that have already watched t...

Hundred Oaks Series by Miranda Kenneally

The books in this series tell the romantic stories of 2 characters within a group of people. Each book tells the story of how a couple comes to be. My favorite book within the entire series would be  Things I Can't Forget . This book takes place at a church camp with the main characters as counselors. Kate, alone without her best friend, arrives to camp and reconnects with people from the past. One person in particular that she reconnects with is a guy named Matt. When she starts a romantic relationship with Matt, Kate needs to figure out how to balance what she wants along with her faith. I really enjoyed this book because it shows the hardships of relationships and not only the idealized versions of it that other romance books usually have. I would recommend this book and the entire series to anyone who enjoys reading books about teen romances and coming of age stories.

Clique Series by Lisi Harrison

The Clique is a series of around 10 books that tells the coming of age stories of five girls and the adventures they go on as well as the all the trouble they get into. Massie and her three friends Dylan, Kristen, and Alicia are privileged girls that are rich and go to an all girls boarding school. Things get interesting when a new girl, Claire, comes to live with Massie. Over the course of all the books in the series, we get to see drama, love, and friendship. It's kind of like reading through a soap opera which makes it really interesting. There's also may be some words as well as the way that the characters talk that may make you cringe at some points (or all the time), but overall, I think these books are good to read for pleasure.

Matched Series by Allie Condie

The Matched series by Allie Condie is a very interesting read. It takes place in a dystopian world where your "soulmate" is chosen for you based on compatibility. Things take a turn when a girl named Cassia gets two matches: Xander and Ky. Eventually, the government tells her that her true match is Xander, but she finds herself falling for Ky. The rest of the series revolves around Ky and Cassia's forbidden love. At one point, Ky gets taken away and Cassia goes on a mission to reunite with him. I really like this series because it has suspense along with mystery to it. It also shows that even if people are compatible on paper, you cannot choose who you fall in love with. I highly recommend this series for people who like the idea of forbidden romances and for all the hopeless romantics.

Burn for Burn Series by Jenny Han

One really interesting series that I have read was the Burn for Burn series by Jenny Han. This series includes three books entitled "Burn for Burn", "Fire With Fire", and "Ashes to Ashes". The trilogy follows three girls named Lillia, Kat, and Mary that become the best of friends, with Mary being the new girl in town. The one thing that they bond over is manipulating and tricking a popular kid named Reeve into falling in love with Lillia. As the story continues, Lillia actually falls in love with Reeve which angers Mary specifically. A plot twist comes in the end when Mary's dark past with Reeve is revealed. This trilogy is one of the most interesting ones that I have read. When you think that it is just another coming of age story about girls in high school, the true intention of the books is shown and makes the reader think deeply. Personally, my jaw dropped when reading the last book and I highly recommend reading this series if you like suspense an...
